A Better Way to Leave Business Cards
You must try this creative trick (works +50% better than the traditional method)
Let’s talk about one thing that real estate agents are sometimes notorious for - leaving business cards in people’s homes. And let’s face it, it barely gives us leads and we end up wasting some money and quite a lot of precious time.
When we first started leaving our business cards in mailboxes, hoping to get some sweet million-dollar listings, no one responded. We imagined that people would just glance at the card and then throw it away in the trash.
But what if there was a way to optimize it for almost no cost at all?
What we tried
We then came up with the idea of creating personalized video messages for each home.
How would the homeowner get the video message?
The owner does not know you and you just left your business card with your contact info. Then they look at the card, but this time they do not throw it away. Do you know why?
This time you left a QR code right on the front of the card with a handwritten message - “Just passed by your neighborhood, left you a message”.
The owner scans it using their phone in 3 seconds and a video of you appears on the screen. Time to shine, you are halfway to get the listing.
What We Learned:
Personalization works. The chances of people responding to your face and voice more than static text.
Even if they don’t reply immediately, seeing a human behind the marketing builds trust.
Engagement skyrocketed compared to plain cards. Despite not getting listings immediately we got around 50% response rate.
Our Tip: Keep videos short, friendly, and actionable. Mention the street, and don’t forget to give a simple next step like scheduling a quick call.
Here’s the step-by-step:
Pick a street or neighborhood you want to prospect, aiming for 30+ homes.
Write down the addresses in a simple list or spreadsheet so you know exactly which homes you’re targeting.
Write a short 30–45 second script. Include:
An intro about yourself
A compliment on the neighborhood
Mention your expertise or a recent sale nearby
Finish with a clear call-to-action like a meeting or phone call
Go to the neighborhood and record a simple personal video for the street or area using your phone. (💡 Say the street or neighborhood name in the video so it feels personal).
Upload the video to YouTube (set as Unlisted), Vimeo, Loom, or Google Drive.
Copy the shareable video link and double-check that it’s accessible to anyone with the link.
Go to a QR code generator (like GenQRCode).
Paste the video link and click “Generate QR Code”.
Download the QR code and save the file with the address as the filename.
Design your business card with the QR code included, in a local print shop. Make sure the QR code is placed clearly and professionally on the card.
Print the cards with the QR code built-in.
Return to the same neighborhood or street where you recorded the videos and place each card in the mailboxes.
Bonus Tip: Knock on doors and hand the card directly to homeowners when possible to increase your chances of engagement.
Track which houses you visited in your spreadsheet.
Follow up quickly if a homeowner engages with your video or reaches out.

One of them gave us +€20M worth of listings
These are the only 2 social media platforms you should use as a realtor
We tried them all.
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and even Telegram.
They can get attention, but attention alone does not guarantee leads. Early on, we chased likes and shares, only to realize most of the people scrolling past our posts were never going to call us.
Then we asked ourselves who we really wanted to reach. The answer was clear. Serious buyers, motivated sellers, and investors who move markets. Only two platforms consistently connect with that audience
LinkedIn is where professionals gather. Developers, investors, and business owners are always looking for opportunities. When we started consistently posting about our work, real stories with clients and marketing strategies - people began seeing us as trusted experts. Engagement went up, conversations started, and opportunities followed.
In less than 6 months, we were able to grow our network to +2,000 followers.
One of our first listings from a developer came directly through LinkedIn. Our first €1M+ listing came from a business owner who wanted to sell his villa and reached out to us through the platform. Our network of partners - mortgage brokers, tax advisors, and management companies, was also built through simple LinkedIn connections. We were even referred by a homeowner’s friend who discovered our page on LinkedIn.
And today, we have a portfolio of €20M+ in on-market and off-market listings.
All because of LinkedIn.
Here are two examples of our most viral posts:

A simple post about how a client from Dubai suddenly decided to buy a house in Madeira Island

The story about how we failed to secure a €8.5M listing despite a great marketing pitch

We have also experience in posting long format videos on YouTube and we love it.
YouTube works differently. Content stays visible long after posting. Potential buyers really like watching engaging videos about a house renovation process, how someone made millions from a real estate investment or a luxurious property that has a garage for 30 cars and a rooftop the size of football field.
The content has to be appealing to a wider audience but a single video can generate leads months later, quietly building credibility.
On February we made 3 videos to promote Madeira Island to potential international buyers 👇

Simple LinkedIn Post Ideas You Can Use Today
If your LinkedIn posts are just new listings, closed deals, or market stats, you’re missing out on the content that actually gets people to stop and read.
Yes, those posts help your reputation, but they don’t guarantee visibility. At the end of the day, LinkedIn is not an advertisement board. It’s a place where people connect through stories, insights, and experiences.
Think about it: if every realtor only posted sales numbers and screenshots of market reports, the feed would be as exciting as a tax advisor announcing that inflation grew 0.4% last month. That kind of content doesn’t inspire conversations.
The top professionals know this. They don’t just show what they sell but they show how their work impacts people’s lives. And that’s exactly what you should aim for.
Here are 7 LinkedIn post ideas you can use today:
Share a client story how you helped a family move from one city to another. Why did they move, what challenges did they face, and what made them choose that specific home?
Show your routine. A glimpse into your day as a broker. Make it fun and human. People like to see what happens outside the polished photos.
Highlight unusual features by posting a photo of a house with something surprising or quirky, and explain how it impressed you (or not).
Capture the view 👀🏞️ Everyone posts interior photos. Be the one who shows the views from balconies, rooftops, or gardens, and describe the surroundings.
Share your experience at a café, restaurant, or park near a listing. Mention the atmosphere, the location, and why someone would find it special.
Reveal your marketing and talk about a creative strategy you used to promote a listing and how it helped you stand out.
Be authentic: Share a failure or mistake in your business and what you learned from it. Honesty builds trust.
Remember, LinkedIn works best when you make it personal. Don’t be afraid to share your perspective, your stories, and your lessons. That’s what makes people trust you and, ultimately, want to work with you.
